Nice article, though I'm not sure the reasons for getting started with Twitter are as compelling as they once were.
+Robert Wallis thanks Robert. If you want to know who's saying what about the things that are of interest to you and your business, I'd say the reasons are more compelling than ever. It's about listening more than talking.

I still use twitter, but if a "normal" user asked me now, I'd probably say that for interests and engagement that twitter wouldn't beat G+.
Both require a level of investment as far as time and experimentation goes of course, which a "normal" user may not wish to apply.
I think of twitter as being like an rss feed that filters out everything dull because it is less likely to be shared. For that reason I love it.
