My name is Neville Hobson and I live in Wokingham, Berkshire, about 40 miles west of London. I’m also known as ‘jangles’ across much of the social web, notably on Twitter.
Much of my work with organizations large and small is in helping them assess and determine the calculated risks required to integrate digital communication into their traditional marketing and communication activities and help employees become effective social ambassadors.
To help do this, I bring a decade’s substantial hands-on experience in and knowledge of social media that complements my extensive experience over 30 years in organizational communication, internal and external.
Overall, my experience embraces corporate communication, employee communication, public relations, marketing communication, compensation and benefits communication as well as investor and financial relations.
I have extensive experience with different nationalities, cultures and generations from living and working in Western, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Latin America – all of which I have found invaluable in understanding what makes people tick in organizations.
Throughout my career, I’ve been a passionate advocate for new and emerging technology tools and channels and how they can be deployed as effective agents of change in better aligning organizational needs with the marketplace and the needs of employees, customers and other stakeholders.
I’m an early adopter (and leaver) and experimenter with social media with an extensive presence and influence across the social web.
I occasionally review products and services – typically, mobile devices and computer software – often requested by brands or PR agencies, always transparently.
I’m also a freelance writer, blogger (since 2002), podcaster (since 2005): creating articles, blog posts, white papers, audio podcasts, social media training programmes and other online content.
I have immersive practical experience in digital communication especially social media; I’m an online community builder; a writer, interviewer and speaker on digital media trends that matter to organizations.
I offer social media training to companies, teaching employees how to use social media tools and channels with confidence and skill.
Although I’m based in the UK, I can work anywhere, physically and online.
English is my first language; I’m also a fluent Spanish speaker.
